Always know which episode you are on
A week away from a series, and the first question is always the same: where was I? The second is whether the next episode is even out yet.
The Watching row answers both, for everything you have started, right at the top of your dashboard.
Watching
3 titles in progress
- Series
Harbour Lights
At S2 E4
New: S2 E5 out yesterday
- Series
Second Shift
At S1 E6
Next: S1 E7 Thu
- Film
The Long Night Out
At 1h 12m of 2h 5m
How it works
- On a title’s page, tap I’m watching this. It moves into the Watching row.
- Each card says where you are: “At S2 E4” for a series, or “At 1h 12m of 2h 5m” for a film you stopped halfway through.
- Tap +1 episode after each one. Or set where you are any time, to jump ahead or go back.
- Tap Finished when you are done. It is marked watched and leaves the row.
Some things land there on their own, with your place: a show you pick back up from the Graveyard with a place noted, a new season you start, and series you were part way through when you imported from TV Time.
New episodes, without checking
For a series still airing, the card says when the next episode is due, “Next: S2 E5 Wed”. Once it is out and you have not seen it, it says so in green: “New: S2 E5 out yesterday”.
Episode dates are refreshed every night, so a weekly show stays current week by week without you looking anything up. When a series ends, the card says that too.
Watching or On Deck?
On Deck is what you mean to start next, up to 10 titles. Watching is what you have already started. A title is in one or the other, never both, so starting something moves it from On Deck to Watching by itself.
When you stop
- Not watching right now. It goes back to your list, and your place is kept for when you return.
- Stopped watching. Gave up on it? It goes to the Graveyard, with where you got to.
- Finished. Marked watched. And if a series you finished gets another season, you hear about it through new season alerts.
Questions
- Does it work for films too?
- Yes. A film keeps your place as a time, like "1h 12m of 2h 5m", for the one you stopped halfway through last night.
- Do I have to log every episode?
- No. Tap +1 episode when you remember, or set where you are whenever you like. A rough place is still better than none.
- Does it know what I watched on Netflix?
- No. Streaming services do not share what you have watched, so your place is what you tell it. A TV Time import brings your place across once.
- How does it know when the next episode is out?
- From TMDB, the community-run film and TV database. Episode dates are refreshed every night.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. Watchlist Boosted is free, with no paywall.
