What How to Get to Heaven from Belfast is like, and who it is for
What it is like to watch
Expect a high-energy viewing experience that balances the irreverent, fast-paced dialogue of a tight-knit friendship with the growing tension of a thriller. The tone will likely shift between laugh-out-loud banter and a sense of genuine peril as the central trio is pulled deeper into a dangerous investigation. It is a show defined by its rhythm: the quick-witted verbal sparring of lifelong companions interrupted by moments of sharp, plot-driven urgency.
Who it is for, and who should skip it
This is aimed squarely at those who loved the character dynamics of Derry Girls but want something with more grit and a central puzzle to solve. If you struggle with heavy accents or prefer a mystery that takes itself entirely seriously, this chaotic blend might feel jarring. A potential caveat is that the comedy may occasionally undercut the suspense, making it harder to feel the weight of the central tragedy.
The right evening for it
It suits a midweek binge when you want something smart and punchy that doesn't sacrifice character for the sake of its plot. It is perfect for an evening that requires both a good laugh and a hook to keep you watching the next episode.
